DOMNIQ launches new Netherlands percussion series

Related artists

DOMNIQ is launching World of Rhythm at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, the first percussion series of its kind in the Netherlands. In its first season, he presents three projects of new work and collaborations, including works by Tōru Takemitsu and Philip Glass, as well as Samuel Adams, for which he joins the Marmen Quartet. There will also be community projects built around each performance.

World of Rhythm takes the universal language of percussion as its starting point, bringing together different disciplines, cultures and genres in one art form. Inspired by DOMNIQ’s travels and musical encounters across the globe, the series explores both the diversity and shared roots of rhythm.

He said: ‘I’m extremely proud to announce the first percussion series in the Netherlands: World of Rhythm at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. This feels like an important moment, a place where we can connect with our audience on a regular basis. Eindhoven is the percussion capital of the world, with TROMP Percussion and the Brainport region as a centre of innovation. With this series we are building bridges between genres, cultures and audiences. It creates a space where people can return and stay connected.’
