Sinfonia Varsovia to tour Asia
Sinfonia Varsovia is to tour Asia at the end of next month under the management of Maestro Arts, visiting South Korea and Hong Kong with conductor Alexander Liebreich. The orchestra celebrates its 40th annivesary this year and the tour marks the 35th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between Poland and South Korea.
On its third visit to Korea, the orchestra takes part in the World Orchestra Series Festival at Daegu Concert House on 26 November, performing Dvořák's Seventh Symphony, Kilar's Orawa and Lutosławski's Little Suite, as well as Brahms's Violin Concerto with soloist Ju-young Baek. They perform the Kilar, Lutosławski and Brahms the next day at Seoul Arts Center, as well as Karłowicz's Lithuanian Rhapsody.
Their next stop is Hong Kong, where they lead several educational sessions and perform the Lutosławski, Dvořák's Symphony no.7 and Dvořák's Cello Concerto with soloist Trey Lee at Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 1 December as the finale of Musicus Fest.
The tour is supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Poland.
