Paris residency for François-Xavier Roth and Les Siècles
Les Siècles has been appointed resident orchestra at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées under the direction of François-Xavier Roth. The first concert of the season is an all-Stravinsky programme on 30 September.
Their first season will include the staging of a double bill of Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias and Stravinsky’s Le Rossignol, as well as a concert performance of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman, symphonic concerts and special children’s performances. The orchestra will mark its 20th anniversary in January 2023 with special events.
Roth founded the orchestra in 2003 with the aim of exploring a wide range of repertoire using historical instruments and authentic interpretations, and under his leadership it has become one of the most radical and exciting orchestras in Europe.
