Pablo González has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor at Tenerife Symphony Orchestra for the coming season, which takes the theme of Visionaries, celebrating composers who have looked to the future and imagined new musical languages. He will conduct eight concerts across the year, opening with Mahler's First Symphony (19 September 2025) and closing with Mahler's Fourth (12 June 2026), and including three world premieres.

Introducing the season, José Carlos Acha, minister for Culture, Museums and Sports, and President of the Music Council, described González as 'a central figure in the subscription season, who reinforces the level of quality and prestige of the orchestra', and said of the orchestra: 'It has established itself as one of the most competitive orchestras in the country, not only for the artistic excellence and quality of its programming, but also for its ability to contribute to collective well-being through culture.'

González said: 'It is an honour and a great joy to begin this collaboration as Principal Guest Conductor of Tenerife Symphony Orchestra. Since my first encounter with the orchestra in 2008, I have had the privilege of sharing numerous projects with this magnificent ensemble, forging a very special artistic and human relationship year after year. The 2025–26 season will give us the opportunity to explore a diverse and challenging repertoire together, further deepening the interpretive excellence we achieved in our last concert together, last June. This exciting season, structured around the theme of Visionaries, will allow us to continue growing and thrilling audiences with the bold proposals that comprise it.'
