Eivind Aadland announced as Artistic Partner at Belgian National Orchestra

Eivind Aadland has been named an Artistic Partner of Belgian National Orchestra for the 2026–27 season. As part of the relationship, he will conduct and curate a multidisciplinary project with the orchestra. He brings an extensive experience of collaborating with visual artists, rooted in his own expertise in contemporary art.

In the first of these productions, he conducts Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony alongside a screening of William Kentridge’s Oh To Believe In Another World (18 September 2026).

Future concerts with the orchestra include a programme pairing Mendelssohn’s Third Symphony with Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with Daniel Lozakovich (11 April 2027).

Aadland currently serves as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2020 and recently renewed to 2028. His collaborations with visual artists include Sky Burial with Mat Collishaw, Overseas with Elina Brotherus and Peer Gynt with Alexander Polzin.
