Conductor Matthew Straw enjoys meaningful artistic collaborations with orchestras and opera companies on both sides of the Atlantic. He has recently been appointed Assistant Conductor of the Opera Studio of Opéra national du Rhin for the 2024–25 season, where he will work on productions such as Ariodante and La traviata and lead performances of Les contes d’Hoffmann in February 2025.
As Assistant Conductor of Utah Symphony last season, he worked with Creative Partner David Robertson and Music Director Emeritus Thierry Fischer, and conducted the orchestra in more than 70 performances. As Assistant Conductor, he has worked with Kazushi Ono and Brussels Philharmonic, and with Ilan Volkov and ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
